Spoiled Lumps of Clay

Trust the Process

“And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hands, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.” Jeremiah 18:4

That’s what the potter does. We are spoiled clumps of clay that are molded by his gentle, strong, deliberate, and creative hands into a new creation. And he does it as he sees fit. We may not understand or agree with his techniques or artistry, but who are we to have any opinion or say on the matter? If it weren’t for our creator, we’d have no life, no purpose, no beauty. We must trust his process, even if it is unfamiliar and scary.

That is how I feel; scared, uncomfortable, and obstinate. I often sink into loneliness and hopelessness, feeling unsure of why I have been put in this particular life situation. But this is where God has me, and this is how he is choosing to mold me. So I stand here, ready and willing to be formed by my master, praying that I won’t get in the way of the process.

FROM SANCTUARY IN TRAUMA

May this be all our prayers “Lord, I stand here, ready and willing to be formed by my master, praying that I won’t get in the way of the process.” Sarah wrote this as she was on her journey through cancer treatment. The Lord answered her prayer and He molded her into a beautiful image of His grace. She went home to be with Him in January 2023 but left us these treasures to inspire our faith and walk with the Lord. Please offer a prayer for her family and friends who are still being molded through this trial.
